The surroundings of De Kempen Woodland Cabin offer vast forests, heathlands, fens, and quiet country lanes. Various walking routes allow you to discover the landscape, from short strolls to longer treks. Some nearby highlights (distance to area):

 

  • Neterselsche Heide (3 km) and Landschotse Heide (5 km): wet heathland, bog myrtle thickets and birch bog; here you can discover special plants and birds.

  • De Utrecht country park (6km): vast nature reserve with fens, heath and meadows, ideal for a quiet day hike.

  • Annanina's Rust (6 km): during a walk, you can spot birds and special plants in this forest and nature reserve.

  • Wellenseind country park (11 km): Riparian forests, old avenues, boardwalks, and small bridges. Unique flora and fauna.

  • Cartierheide & Natuurpoort TerSpegelt (18 km): starting point for beautiful walks through forest and heath.

  • Gnome Trail TerSpegelt: an adventurous trail for the little ones, right in the middle of the forest.

  • De Malpie (25 km): boardwalks, fens, and silence; perfect for getting completely away from the hustle and bustle.

Tip: bring your binoculars or take ours and enjoy the peace and the diversity of flora and fauna.

Cycling & e-chopper routes

Discover forests, heathlands, and observation towers on two wheels.

Brabant is ideal for cycling enthusiasts, with both paved and unpaved routes through varied landscapes. From Boshuisje de Kempen, you can discover unique viewpoints and historical sites. Some popular routes:

  • Het Stilste Stukje Nederland (45 km): through the peaceful Brabant Kempen.

  • Tilburg Cycling Tour: Brabants Kloosterpad (43 km): through city, village, and greenery, start at the Abbey of Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven (La Trappe)

  • Happen & Trappen (Bike and Bite) route Hart van Brabant (46 km): enjoy nature and local delicacies in Oisterwijk.

For those who like to seek more of a challenge:

  • Cycle routes past four observation towers: D'n Flaestoren, Tour de Frans, De Reuselhoeve Observation Tower and De Nieuwe Herdgang.

  • Cycling routes four observation towers: short version 90 km, long version 116 km.

  • Gravel bike routes four observation towers: North Loop 67 km, South Loop 52 km, Long Route 98 km.

Tip: rent a bike or e-chopper at Summio Parc Duc de Brabant and start your route directly from the cottage.
