The Most Beautiful Walking Routes Around Kempen Forest Cabin (3 to 25 km)

Anyone staying at The Kempen Forest Cabin is surrounded by one of the most beautiful natural areas in Brabant. From the house you can walk straight into the forest, and within just a few minutes’ drive you will find heathlands, fens and charming village routes. Whether you are looking for a short relaxing walk, a longer hike or a route suitable for children, there is always something beautiful to discover here.

Below you will find our favorite walking routes, clearly organized by distance.

Short walks (up to 5 km)

1. Neterselse Heide – 3.8 km (5-minute drive)

A short but atmospheric walk through a varied heath landscape with forest edges and small fens. Perfect if you want some fresh air or are heading out with children. Find the route here.

2. Landschot – 4.2 km (10-minute drive)

A peaceful walk through open fields and sandy paths. Ideal for a short nature walk without steep climbs or crowds. Click here for the route.

Medium walks (5–15 km)

3. Ommetje Diessen – 9.5 km (7-minute drive)

A varied walk past the historic center of Diessen, along the river Reusel, through the ’t Turkaa forest area and the charming Pastoorspaadje. A route full of small surprises and lovely views.

4. Landgoed De Utrecht – 13.7 km (start from the house)

The perfect walk if you want to set off directly from the house. You will pass dense forests, quiet sandy paths and beautiful fens. Don’t miss the Flaestoren lookout tower, which offers an impressive panoramic view. Find the route here.

5. Neterselse Heide – 14.2 km (5-minute drive)

This longer route through the Neterselse Heide takes you across varied terrain including heath, forest, fens and peaceful trails. Ideal route if you want to fully experience the Kempen landscape.

Long walks (15 km and more)

6. Bockenrijders Route – 17.9 km (5-minute drive or 5-minute walk to join the route)

A beautiful full-day hike through a rugged part of the Kempen. You walk through forests, heathland and historic areas connected to the old Bockenrijders legends. The route can be found here.

7. Landgoed Utrecht – Rovertse Heide – 25 km (10-minute drive)
