From Dream to Forest Cabin: Our Cosy Hideaway in the Brabant Nature

Sometimes you just know. You see a place and think this is it. That’s exactly what happened to us. We were searching for our own holiday home in the Netherlands a peaceful spot surrounded by nature, where we could completely unwind.

What we found was even better than we imagined: a small wooden cabin tucked away among the trees, quiet and surrounded by green.

We hadn’t expected it to be so unique. Built in a Swedish style, painted in a warm red that stands out beautifully against the green surroundings without feeling out of place. The veranda, the slanted roof, and the scent of wood as soon as you walk in it all feels warm and welcoming right away.

Inside, everything is made of wood, but with all the modern comforts: a well-equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and two cosy bedrooms. It’s exactly what you hope for from a forest cabin in the Netherlands charming, comfortable, and completely surrounded by nature.

What We Added to Make It Our Own

We wanted to make the cabin feel even more personal and inviting. No major renovations, just small, thoughtful touches to create our perfect getaway:

A cosy reading corner
A round dining table for shared meals and game nights
A soft sofa to curl up on
A calm, comfortable sleeping space with everything our one-year-old daughter needs

On the veranda, everything comes together: peace, a view of the trees, and a hanging chair under the roof the perfect spot to do absolutely nothing.

In the future, we’d love to add an air conditioner, maybe a hot tub, some grass, and a bit of fencing. But for now, it’s all about simplicity, nature, and relaxation. And that’s exactly what you’ll find here.

Why This Location?

We wanted something close to home, right here in Brabant surrounded by peace, space, and nature. This cabin lies on the edge of beautiful nature reserves, with lakes, hiking and cycling trails, and endless opportunities to be outdoors. We’re still discovering the area ourselves, and that’s part of the fun we’re growing together with this little house.

What we already know? It’s the perfect place to sit on the veranda under the trees, read a book, or simply enjoy the silence. An ideal nature stay in the Netherlands far away from noise, crowds, and obligations.
